December... Hi and Bye~~~

So fast December dy... Time really flies... Sigh~~~ Getting older lo...

Anyway December seems so packed for me. With no grant for 2009 yet and conference near April 2009, 2009 seems a bit gloomy o.O" Anyhow, December is Christmas month... So v shud hav some Christmas mood around us... "O holy night, the stars are brightly shining, it is the night of our dear saviour's birth..."

To start off December, first Saturday is Family day cum Fund Raising day for BB. Thank God got a lot of ppl helping me out ie. pyong, joie, seng, caren, and er... church members (and not forgetting those contributing financially also) ^^ So many things to prepare, er... I think my division is the least though keke... Still, joie, seng and daryl helped out in the preparation of the tickets, really helped out alot ^^ Thanx guys~~~ Then my bro will helped out in the technical parts, for example the photo sticker part, volunteers' name tag, officers' name tag, signboards... Plz keep this event in ur prayers ya~~~

Then the Monday 8th of Dec is a holiday. Tapi I tak holiday. Got Futsal competition for youth below 16 yrs old. Was designated as time keeper. Or as score keeper. Something like tat ^^ Football was never my thing keke... And erm... Not much info regarding this, coz me keh leh feh only ^^~

Then after tat Thursday holiday~~ Yahoo... BUT THEN... 9-11th of Dec nite got drill exercise for officers o.O" Holiday also need to work =.=" It's ok for me though coz i dunno how to give command for BB and also dunno how to enforce the dicipline in the kids... Now this one really headache... No respect u, they will climb over ur head, then susah lead the group... So i must be very very strict... But then sumhow quite susah also. U will know wat i meant if u c the way they do push ups. Very funny de... I got a few pictures, but then not my camera =.= Sigh~~~ Perhaps its time to get a camera ^^ Hohoho Budget 2009 must include~~

Then after tat, 13th until 16th of Dec got a LifeGame camp at Kuala Kubu Bharu, somewhere near Rawang i assume, coz it's a few KTM station fr Rawang. The camp is about 100 campers size, and currently short of 7 helpers. So plz keep praying and ask God to provide helpers for this camp, that many more will come to know Him. Please read Luke 16:19-31. And see which side u will end up in near future ^^

After camp, almost Christmas le... No plans for Christmas yet... Was thinking of making a trip south to Singapore... Well see how things goes... Coz 5th of Jan will make a trip up north to Penang... ^^ Happening leh... Will bring a Sabah frend, Eyen jalan jalan... Main target: Penang Tao Jap buffet... Along the way will sapu all the food: Laksa, curry laksa, popiah, char kue teow, lobak, har mee, loh mee, basically all the penang food and stuff like tat... Joie jie plz suggest a few places to get all those nice stuff ya~~~

Hmm... Looks like tat's all the nice and happening stuff around me these time... Will keep updating fr time to time to share about each of the events... Oh ya, did i mentioned i got back my Smart Money and Stock Market game set? Hohoho... Ciaoz~~ God bless all of you~!~

Tired... Yet rewarding ^^

Seng asked where is the next part tat i promised... Haha sorry it took so long ^^ I was thinking of changing my style abit by sharing songs and write something about them ^^

Though I hav disappointments, but yet i insisted there are returns.

The saturday after Deepavali, I joined BB as a warden officer. Kids still dunno me as an officer of coz... So i dun mind them ignoring my authority and leave all the punishments to the other officers. Then came the day where there was this outing to the Elephant sanctuary and deerland somewhere near Lanchang, Pahang. I was supposed to look after this older group of kids, which have known me for quite some time, so i get a little respect fr them. However, due to an officer's absence, I was arranged to replace that officer. That group consists of younger kids whom i seldom interact with. First look at it, i saw trouble. The famous troublesome-two were there. One of them immediately look me up, and ask me whether i m an officer. When i answer yes, he straight away ask, "Where is your trousers? Your belt? Your hat? Officer meh?" I was like... Zzz ini budak... When there is situation like this, for short term purposes there's only left one thing to do. Can u guess was is it? What happens if ur subordinate doesn't respect and obey u? Easiest thing to do is to transfer them elsewhere ^<^... Hohoho off he went to Jimmy's group. Settled. Better "settle" him first b4 he brings trouble.

Then after tat all the kids masuk bus, 4 officers and 5 helpers masuk van. Off v go~~ This reminds me, where are all the photos? o.O I hav taken some decent photos during the trip. Hopefully not BB's property, else susah o.o" By the way, this trip was handled by a tour guide. 2 places for a whole day, to both me n jimmy, is a waste of time. 10 something sampai deerland, walk one round, after take group photos, baru 11am == Lunch is at 11.30am, so lepak around while waiting for lunch to be served. Managed to interact w some of the older kids, as usual, v grew quite fond of each other. Got a few purposely come n kacau kali... Sigh... Kids... During lunch time, there was this one cute kid, Rebecca, kept kena kacau by bee. Often she has to leave her place awhile avoiding invading bee when she was having her lunch. She is a very sweet girl. So perhaps that was the reason only she kena kacau ^^. Anyway, after suggesting to sit in front of me, the bee took off, no longer kacau her. This proves tat me not so sweet after all =="

Perhaps its time for me to get a camera. So that i can take photos of others. I m not photogenic ^^. By the time v arrived elephant sanctuary, the elephants were having their "lunch break" ==" Tour guide really bad planning. Wasted another hour or so. And kids get restless ever so easily. So v push them into the store and get them ice-creams to keep them bz for awhile. At this time, the budak-tat-kena-banish-to-other-group, Gabriel Tan, came over and ask to return to the bus coz he left his bag in the bus. Zzz... The reason he needs his bag is becoz his extra set of shirts and towel was in it. See la... Never listen to instructions... Coz the tourguide said perhaps we will hav chance of getting wet while the elephants were having their bath. Then at the same time, there was this kid who wants to put his bag into the bus??!! Sigh~~~ Anyway i guided them back to the bus and get his stuff, while pursuading the other kid (dunno name ^^) to bring along his bag... So ended up, both kids carrying their bag back to the sanctuary. Then i wonder y the other kid tagged along... Weird... However, ended up no elephant ride, no elephant bath for the kids, coz they are kids ==. I also dunno bring shirt n towel for wat... Tourguide not doing her job to her best... Oh ya, i din mention about the bus driver right? He is an indian guy. The bus was speeding along Karak highway, overtaking cars at corners b4 genting exit. This is wat i do when i am driving a CAR, not a BUS. The bus slanted to a side everytime he masuk corner at high speed. V were in the van behind the bus and it was so terrifying, knowing tat the bus was full w kids. So v asked jimmy to call captain who is onboard the bus to remind the driver to slow down. The van at 110kmph still cant catch up the bus o.O" After the phone call, the bus slowed down, this time barely moving... Zzz... This fella cari pasal w us... Naik bukit also din press pedal, coz no smoke come out at all... So v played along w him lo... Drive slowly... V 忍忍忍忍... Coz v also know he biasa speeding wont tahan long de... ^^ Coz i also like tat ma keke... Then after the petronas stop where v stop for toilet, he slowly picked up speed, to acceptable level dy... Tat short distance v used up one bar of petrol... Zzzz waste of petrol only... Anyhow v managed to talk to him during the toilet break time and try to build up a friendly relationship. Well, sumhow it works ^^ Thank God for that... During the journey back, v drove back first coz v hav to attend to the parents who are alwez earlier coz they so gan cheong... So its our turn to "pit" the bus ngek ngek ngek...

After tat, i torn my shoe zzz... Reason? I played football using that black shoe... Sigh~~~ Jalan so far no problem, sekali play football w kids torn pulak... No time to buy shoe, coz gonna celebrate Suk Haun's birthday after tat... Din know was her birthday, else will get a vegetarian cake for her as well coz i ordered a vegetarian cake 2 days b4 for Karthik... I sampled the cake b4 i buy de... Sumhow the cake din get a good response at Genting... Sob sob... But seriously, the cake was not as good as the slice i had earlier. Not much green tea taste, chocolate also so giam siap... The pathetic part is, this is the shop Suk Haun the vegetarian introduced de... Swt... Wat can i say??

V bought 2 bottles of red wine over. One is 999 Bin Merlot, another one is Red Hill Merlot. 999 cost about rm50, the other one half price. V opened the Bin and it tasted so so only... Yet another swt... The Red Hill, on the other hand, taste smoother... Sigh... Wrong gift tim... The Red Hill is still in our house, one opened, and bought a new one ^^ All these chaotic stuff ended with me determining to wear the shoe my bro gave me for Genting coz he cant wear. Zzzz...

This is a song named "Still". Through all these chaotic situation, be still and know that the Lord is still in-charge. With me being "still", i banish a kid to other group, did some funny stuff during the visits, played around with the bus driver "who is the slowest" and "u cant catch me", rescued a princess fr bee attack, avoiding another cake mistake, got out of the wine mistake by fixing Suk Haun's com, scored a few goals w the torn shoes, and not forgetting the weird looking shoe tat my bro gave which make me shorter than Joie jie... Zzzz... Wat a day~~~

Still Lyrics
Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
Within Your mighty hands

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You, above the storm
Father, You are king over the flood
I will be still and know You are God

Find rest my soul, in Christ alone
Know His power, in quietness and trust

Thank you all~~~

Thank all of you for being a part of my wonderful life. Continue to pray that each and everyone of us will be able to keep our focus on Him, with the strength He has given us when we cried out to Him. Pray that we will see each other again in heaven, and for eternity. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Words and Music by Ray Boltz

I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea
We heard the angels singing
Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came

And he said, Friend
You may not know me now
And then he said, But wait
You used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayer
I asked Jesus in my heart

CHORUS:
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

Then another man stood before you
And said remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry
You didn't have much money
But you gave it anyway
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that's why I am here today

CHORUS

One by one they came
Far as the eye could see
Each life somehow touched
By your generosity
Little things that you had done
Sacrifices made
Unnoticed on the earth
In heaven now proclaimed

And I know up in heaven
You're not supposed to cry
But I am almost sure
There were tears in your eyes
As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord
He said, My child look around you
Great is your reward

CHORUS (repeat)

I am so glad you gave

Be Magnified~~

At times, v alwez thought that v had the situation under our control. And so v plan ahead, look forward based on our perspective. V plan to finish at least a degree, then perhaps look for a job, raise enuf money then start a family... V hav heard of all these plans from the ppl around us. Plans for the future... Is tis the purpose of life? Well, v dun even know when v r going to die, v dunno wat will happen 2molo, v dun even know wat will happen an hour later, let alone tomolo...

Most of us plan our schedule right up to one month ahead of us... I planned my research schedule right up till year end. However, as u may hav guessed, things dun run as i planned. Disappointment and frustration had their share on me... Sigh~ At times it just feel so OK to feel disappointed and frustrated. I took it as a norm of life... Some time down the line, I realized that this is not supposed to be my life. Ppl around me maybe surrounded by this "aura", but mine shud be different. My "aura" shud be positive instead of negative. Ppl around us can influence us by sharing their "aura" w us. As simple as tat. They don't hav to talk to u or persuade u in order for you to follow them. We shud be the salt and light, remember?

May this song continue to remind us to refocus ourselves to God. God bless you~~ ^^

Artist: Don Moen - Author: Lynn DeShazo

Lyrics:
I have made You too small in my eyes
O Lord, forgive me;
And I have believed in a lie
That You were unable to help me.
But now, O Lord, I see my wrong
Heal my heart and show Yourself strong;
And in my eyes and with my song
O Lord, be magnified
O Lord, be mag - nified.

CHORUS:
Be magnified, O Lord
You are highly exalted;
And there is nothing You can't do
O Lord, my eyes are on You.
Be magnified,
O Lord, be mag - nified.

I have leaned on the wisdom of men
O Lord, forgive me;
And I have responded to them
Instead of Your light and Your mercy.
But now, O Lord, I see my wrong
Heal my heart and show Yourself strong;
And in my eyes with my song
O Lord, be magnified
O Lord, be magnified.

CHORUS:
Be magnified, O Lord
You are highly exalted;
And there is nothing You can't do
O Lord, my eyes are on You.
Be magnified,
Lord, be mag - nified.

Indescribable...

Indeed, such a beautiful song~~~ Plz enjoy ^^

composer: Lora Story ; Worship Leader: Chris Tomlin

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God

All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God

Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Interesting weeked ^^v (Part 3)

The movie Tropic Thunder is worse than expected... Too many American jokes, hopelessly Stephen Chow replication... Sigh~~~ The important point that I wanna point out in this movie is: Wat is ur identity? The black Australian guy is the main character in IronMan, something Jr. ^^ I am not good w names *Wink* Anyway, why did he hav to go thru all the trouble to become black? Is it worth it so as to get the role in the movie? Back to our case, is it worth it to put on a mask just so tat v can fit onto our stages in life? Well, a point worth considering, yet no absolute answer... It all depends on you... And this is free will ^^

On the day of Deepavali, i am so so sad... :'( I hav to attend a BB officer basic training course ><" Ended up being sent to lectures from 9am till 5.30pm... Walao maybe coz long time din hav lectures dy, keep falling asleep ><... Summore i am the second fr the front, often hav to use the person in front's head as cover so that the instructor cant c me sleeping ^^ This course yet again (sigh so many times le) reminded me tat investment in people often bears greater fruit and bring much joy to us... At times, when v wanna buy stuff for ourselves, v may think tat its too expensive la etc etc... But then somehow for me, i dont feel much pain if i m investing presents for frends... It just somehow doesnt hurt much ^^ Coz i know my father in heaven is damn rich (mark my words man~~~) and i m willing to be a channel of blessing to bless those around me...

Then later tat day when i finished my course, aunty called to say tonight v makan outside. Now this is something pretty weird coz she usually prefers to cook for us, and say "outside food no good la, oil no good la, not balance la", etc etc... ^^ Hmmm... Something fishy going on keke... She told me thru phone tat someone accepted Christ. Immediately i know its seng ^^ Y? Coz he is the only one at home w aunty hahaha... This time cant cabut dy hohoho... Caren jie left in the morning i presume, and anyway she is a Christian already (or so i assume ><"), Yan Man (a nurse who kicked me down to my current small room sob sob) is also a Christian (yet again assuming), Jimmy and me in church, so must be seng seng ^^ Pandai leh *wink* Aunty memang geng... And I thank God for her ^^ At least the many times b4 this I cant pull seng in, aunty sekejab gao dim... She is gifted in sharing the gospel... Sigh~~ For me this is something i need to reinforce and learn, and mark my words it doesnt come about naturally in me... So will be having a tough time ahead...

Then finally joie jie can meet Yan man tat night... ^^ I forgot to ask joie jie wat she think about yan man... Me and seng hav been telling joie jie about yan man and how she assembles joie jie in her... err... aura? Haha this is something I noticed though, from all of my female frends i noticed that most of them are diff in a way (not tat i hav a lots of female frend lol) Dunno how to explain le ^^ Anyway joie jie plz drop a comment here about wat u think about yan man ya after that short dinner together thanx~

At about 12.20am tuesday morning, something urgent came about... And guess wat? Becoz of Deepavali, the cleaner (who is Indian) is off duty. Yet Tuesday morning kindy will be functioning as usual... Gulp... Jimmy mentioned that he will be going back to church to become the cleaner... I was like "OMG"... zzz... His job description macam not included all these... Then it strike me that he will be doing it ALONE... Cold sweat... Sigh~~~ I cant leave him alone right? (keke machonya ^^) So ended up both of us go and start cleaning up the kindy classroom and meal area. Later i found out that he was particularly concern about the cleanliness of the classroom is becoz of HFM (hand, foot and mouth disease). Apparently, some of the children kena dy somehow and he is afraid of the HFM spreading in the kindy. Apparently his job makes him aware of the situation in the church. And i am glad that i can help him in cleaning up the place. V started out at 12.30am and finished at about 3.30am... 3 hours not bad le... Coz according to Jimmy the cleaner took about 4 hours ^^ Anyhow I only help out abit only, like lap the tables, sapu lantai, empty the rubbish bin, and... Err... apart from playing the piano nothing le ^^ Jimmy pulak clean up the toilets, lap lantai, sapu lantai, lap meja, empty the rubbish bin... My nose is leaking all the while >< And this was the consequences... Plz refer part 1 ^^

This event reminds me of yet another thing (swt how come so many reminder zzz). God ministry will keep on going, with or without u... And becoz it's free will, u urself then decide whether u wanna join in His ministry... Alwez ppl will think tat v often get nothing back materially if v invest too much time on God's ministry... Coz it is true in a way... At times v alwez kena critic here n there, disappointments here n there, and many many things to pull u down... Then does it mean that v shud stop ministering? For those faint hearted, perhaps its time to grow stronger in the Lord... Nothing that u r facing now is unbearable, coz He permits only the bearable for us to bear... But for me, though at times i feel discouraged, somehow the returns are much much more... Y do i say this? Next episode then ^^...

Interesting weeked ^^v (Part 2)

Haha... So sorry i hav to pengsan half way... Where was I tat day? Shud be something about Caren's birthday i think... I am abit dizzy now as well... Just came home fr an indian frend'es house celebrate Deepavali... Me and jimmy finish one bottle of red wine ><" Kena paksa minum... Else cant go home... Really swt... So basically finish half bottle ==... My whole body keluar "ruam merah" and heart beating like mad... Macam gonna kena heart attack... But then thank God v r not drunk ^^

Back to the story... Caren jie said tat she will be jobless in one month time... So she was looking at the newspaper for jobs while v teman seng, joie and daryl dinner... I believed tat she is worried... But yet I believed that God is planning something greater for her in future... Greater thing hav yet to come, and greater things still to be done in this city ^^ Will continue to pray for you my dear frend...

After tat as joie jie mentioned, she brought in the cake when caren jie was facebooking... The cake is a way too bit sweet... Anyhow the next day, i woke up early to go church prepare for piano playing... This day was the singing competition day for the adult session. The pianist went overseas so i tahan her place... I am not familiar w the songs and never really practice w the contestant b4hand... *Gulp* As i feared they cant perform their best... Sigh~~~ Even more disappointing news was tat none of the contestant that i played for won anything ==" There was anothere pianist the other day... Sigh~~~ If only i let her play everything... However, the good news are, my student won 3rd price for the children session... ^^ And her daddy and her won the 2nd price in the adult session... She is very talented... She learnt the song in less than a week... Coz tat week was my convo week, so i din managed to guide her fr the beginning... And yet, she did a good job... She even played the piano for her daddy to sing tat day... She was the first to accept Christ in her family. Now her parent also converted recently... I was so happy for them... For it is true that even if there's only one person in the family who accepted Christ, the whole family will be saved... And i prayed that this student of mine will continue to grow in the Lord and continue to serve Him in worship ministry... So its up to me again to guide her up ^^

After the terrible time where i was disappointed w my performance, I went to MPH warehouse to meet up w seng n caren jie... Hoping to find some self help book and some exercise for my little bro who will be sitting SPM next year, however really disappointed coz not much books available... Most of it were kids story books ><" Sigh~~ After the cari buku session, v went to attend the CashFlow seminar thingy... It was diff than SmartMoney... SmartMoney was tougher... CashFlow seems to be very possitive all the while... In a way it was unrealistic to the real world... Anyway, Seng managed to get out of the rat race, in which v were happy for him ^^ Me and caren jie really cham... Caren jie cham abit coz she was a doctor and somehow she was jobless twice... ><" Must be bedah something wrong and kena sack ^^

Then after that v go n meet up w joie, daryl and nemo... Makan banana leaf ><" Me and seng not feeling well, yet still v go try try coz majority wishes to makan banana leaf... Nvm me no prob... the consequences was: I kena flu fr sore throat ><" Sigh~~~ Nvm... I am feeling better now anyway ^^ Thanx for praying ya, and God knows who u r, though i may not know ^^

After dinner, dunno who suggested go watch movie... Ended up watching Thunder something... Funny... abit dizzy now... Guess its time to sign off again... 2day no left nostril leaking water right nostril leaking blood ^^ Only feel hot and heart beat very fast ><" That frend of ours really want to make us drunk o.O" Anyway, more to come in future... Stay tuned ^^

Interesting weeked ^^v (Part 1)

I am back~~~! Back from cleaning up the Kindy classroom and guess wat? Now its 3.30am Tuesday morning ^^

Its been an interesting n hectic weekend... Saturday morning as usual conducting computer classes for senior citizens at Taman Tan Yew Lai at Jalan Puchong. I usually talked too much until i hav to drag the classes for 2 hours instead of 1 hour to finish my syllabus... >"< The name of the organisation is CCCOWE, but me n uncle Jimmy called it COCOWE as to pronounce it as CO-CO-WEEEEE~~~ This remind me of the children song "COCONUT" ^^ V sang it a few times b4 and it feels kinda ok so v continue to use this name~~

Senior citizens are fun to be with... They are usually parents or grandparents who are eager to learn some computing skills so as to reduce the generation gap existed between their children and grandchildren. One of the cute aunty told me her story:

She had a son who is studying in Taiwan. And one day while she was using the computer, she accidentally open some programs and cant seem to close the program after some trials of her own. In the end, computer technician came and changed her monitor, keyboard and mouse. Basically she had to pay for all these, including the phone bill of rm500++ for calling her son in Taiwan for help. >"< This all happened b4 she started attending the class. She kept telling me tat she din know such a big problem can exist just by opening some programs in the computer... Sigh~ Obviously she was cheated... I kept reassuring her tat none of this will happen again coz she can contact me in future if there's anything wrong with her computer. At least it will be cheaper than paying rm500++ to call her son in Taiwan. ^^ And she kept showing signs of regret for being a computer illiterate. And her sharing took 15 minutes of the supposing 1 hour class ==" Aunty can be quite "cheong hei".

This semester i will be having 2 classes. And the aunties and uncles in the basic class are very very curious about computer stuff. This reminds me that v shud alwez keep learning till the day v depart fr this world... And i learnt their life experiences as all of them came from different walks of life. Too many stories till i dunno which to share >"< Coming soon then~~

After both classes, I rushed to Church to help out in the Kindy's 13th Graduation and Concert. I am in-charged of the song system... Tough job... A couple of NGs here and there... Sigh~~ Anyhow, the children are cute... Outstanding is a better term... A few of them really shake their body while singing on stage... Really cute... Me laughing at the back of the hall inside the music room while some of the co-workers joined in the fun... Superb~ But the most striking part is the reaction of the parents attending. They are so happy and proud of their children and joy is clearly shown on their faces... This reminds me yet again that children are investments, and it is more worthwhile to invest on people, for it is joyous to see ur students excel in later part of their life, and tat in a way or the other v are playing a role in contributing to their excellence... So i teaches, and continue teaching ^^

After the concert, I rushed to MV to meet up w caren jie. Upon meeting her, v realized that there was miscommunication between us. I thought she was supposed to call out the rest of the gang (seng, joie, n daryl, n who-so-ever-that-can-make-it)to hav dinner together. And she thought I called them pulak o.o" Tiba-tiba macam terfeel a rush of cold wind swept by my spine... Cold Sweat >_<" Ended up went to Manhanttan Fish Market coz Seng and gang just woke up (at 7pm u know...) Cold wind again... Cold Sweat... Then another thought strikes~~~ I macam never makan alone w caren jie o.O" cold cold sweat again... Ish... Things are getting harder to handle coz I macam long time din relate to gal dy... *Gulp* Luckily she was bz w her phone most of the time... Phew ^^ Sigh~~ Must learn how to relate to gals le... Scary experience when u hav no topic to talk about... Eeeerrriiiiieeeee... Cold wind cold sweat... Then finally joie jie called to arrange caren's birthday celebration... I dunno wat's going on pun o.O" Joie jie suggested to have the celebration at my place but they need some time to get to my place fr serdang... Ask me to stall her wa... Sigh~~~ Already dunno how to relate to a gal dy, food cant seems to finish, sked of the eerrrieee silence between us, summore hav to stall her... Ez only ma right? ><"

Somehow i managed to stall her and reached home about 5min b4 joie jie arrived. Nice planning leh??? *wink* In the end i hav to finish the dunno wat plater, ignoring the rice and fries... Not bad le coz both of us small eaters :P Managed to stall abit here and there by ordering more bottomless 100+ and managed to smuggle out 2 tins of them ^^ Then went to Carrefour to buy some fruits for aunty as "rental" for staying overnight... Oh ya... Then sesat here n there abit b4 arriving Manhanttan FM ^^ She alwez sesat abit de so this work out fine when she is leading the way as i buy more time ^^ Pandai leh~~

God Smiles When We Use Our Abilities by Rick Warren

He has shaped each person in turn; now he watches everything we do. Psalm 33:15 (MSG)

*** *** *** ***

After the flood, God gave Noah these simple instructions: ''Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything" (Genesis 9:1, 3 NIV).

God said, "It's time to get on with your life! Do the things I designed humans to do. Make love to your spouse. Have babies. Raise families. Plant crops and eat meals. Be humans! This is what I made you to be!"

You may feel that the only time God is pleased with you is when you're doing "spiritual" activities like reading the Bible, attending church, praying, or sharing your faith. And you may think God is unconcerned about the other parts of your life. Actually, God enjoys watching every detail of your life, whether you are working, playing, resting, or eating. He doesn't miss a single move you make. The Bible tells us, "The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives" (Psalm 37:23 NLT).

Every human activity, except sin, can be done for God's pleasure if you do it with the attitude of praise. You can wash dishes, repair a machine, sell a product, write a computer program, grow a crop, and raise a family for the glory of God. Like a proud parent, God especially enjoys watching you use the talents and abilities he has given you. God intentionally gifted us differently for his enjoyment. He has made some to be athletic and some to be analytical. You may be gifted at mechanics or mathematics or music or a thousand other skills. All of these activities can bring a smile to God's face.

You don't bring glory or pleasure to God by hiding your abilities or by trying to be someone else. You only bring him enjoyment by being you. Anytime you reject any part of yourself, you are rejecting God's wisdom and sovereignty in creating you. God says, "You have no right to argue with your Creator. You are merely a clay pot shaped by a potter. The clay doesn't ask, 'Why did you make me this way?'" (Isaiah 45:9 CEV).

In the film Chariots of Fire, Olympic runner Eric Liddell says, "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast, and when I run, I feel God's pleasure." Later he says, "To give up running would be to hold him in contempt." There are no unspiritual abilities, just misused ones. Start using yours for God's pleasure.

God also gains pleasure in watching you enjoy his creation. He gave you eyes to enjoy beauty, ears to enjoy sounds and music, your nose and taste buds to enjoy smells and tastes, and the nerves under your skin to enjoy touch. Every act of enjoyment becomes an act of worship when you thank God for it. In fact, the Bible says, "God generously gives us everything for our enjoyment" (1 Timothy 6:17 TEV).

God even enjoys watching you sleep! When my children were small, I remember the deep satisfaction of watching them sleep. Sometimes the day had been filled with problems and disobedience, but asleep they looked contented, secure, and peaceful, and I was reminded of how much I loved them.

My children didn't have to do anything for me to enjoy them. I was happy to just watch them breathing. As their little chests would rise and fall, I'd smile, and sometimes tears of joy filled my eyes. When you are sleeping, God gazes at you with love, because you were his idea. He loves each one of us as if there were only one of us.

Parents do not require their children to be perfect, or even mature, in order to enjoy them. They enjoy them at every stage of development. In the same way, God doesn't wait for you to reach maturity before he starts liking you. He loves and enjoys you at every stage of your spiritual development.

You may have had unpleasable teachers or parents as you were growing up. Please don't assume God feels that way about you. He knows you are incapable of being perfect or sinless (1 John 1:8). The Bible says, "He certainly knows what we are made of. He bears in mind that we are dust" (Psalm 103:14 GW).

What God looks at is the attitude of your heart: Is pleasing him your deepest desire? This was Paul's life goal: "More than anything else, however, we want to please him, whether in our home here or there" (2 Corinthians 5:9 TEV).

When you live in light of eternity, your focus changes from "How much pleasure am I getting out of life?" to "How much pleasure is God getting out of my life?"

God is looking for people like Noah in the 21st century – people willing to live for the pleasure of God. The Bible says, "The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who are wise, who want to please God" (Psalm 14:2 LB).

Will you make pleasing God the goal of your life? There is nothing that God won't do for the person totally absorbed with this goal.

Master degree: Ups and Downs...

Weird... Felt like writing yet again the exciting stuffs that happened to me during my RA and master degree period. Learnt a lot of stuff during this period of time. I had chosen to write out the things I learnt as I remembered them.

After the acceptance by my supervisors, I got busy with the preparations of proposal. And of course the application forms were abit of problems as my referee reports got lost even I sent them in end of July by my referees' courtesy. That aside, coming up with a proposal title proved to be a headache. I am glad that my supervisors chose to let me do things on my own just after giving me slightest idea about what is expected. Prof. Sim gave me five (5) snakes to choose upon for my research. They are (i) Malaysian pit viper; (ii) Malayan cobra; (iii) Malayan krait; (iv) king cobra; and (v) Malaysian lance-headed pit viper. I chose Malayan krait as my snake and hand in the proposal for first review.

After both supervisors discussed among themselves regarding my proposal, it was concluded that the snake proposed wasn't the best choice. Malayan cobra seems to be a better choice as the venom composed of three major components: (i) PLA2; (ii) neurotoxin; and (iii) cardiotoxin. In short, this is the perfect snake as the venom has different mode of action. Sufficient for my studies. We have tonnes of the venom in the lab, readily available.

After a few more reviews from both of them, my proposal is completed. This is the period where my Aax2 will be having her convocation. After her convocation, we went back to Sandakan together. Shortly after that my grandma passed, if not mistaken at 7.35am on 5th of October 2007, Friday where it is the last day of PMR. Thank God that I was back home where I am helping out in handling some of the logistic matters. After the burial on the 10th or 11th, my mom and younger brother stayed back a week longer as my bro was having after PMR break and I believed my mom wouldn't want to return home after awhile. I decided to spend my time with them until they leave KL. Thank God that both my supervisors let me do so and it was then that I realised all of them in the lab (except for two Malay lab assistants) are Christians! Amazing! It was then that I finally realized that I am in good hands.

I got along with them very well, except for the PHD student and PRof. Tan as I don't see them that often. Shin Yee was having her annual break and was expecting a child soon. Therefore I supposed the bossy-instructing attitude could be mainly due to the hormonal issue. Prof Tan in the meantime always "sigh" in his office. Thus I keep my distance from him, afraid that I add on to his burden in anyway. Nevertheless, they are pleasant people to get along with by the way they interact with others.

Kak Shikin taught me the first few days to do SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting using Invitrogen Western Blot Kit. The SDS-PAGE kit was quite difficult to master as it always leak. Through many practices and leaving it overnight are the keys to ensure correct setup. I had be repeating SDS-PAGE and Western Blot for about 6 times in about a month. It was then the chromogen from the kit expired and thus the work stopped until now. The blotting stuff hadn't arrive yet tough the chromogens arrived in January. I did also column chromatography during this period of time. The velvet bean extracts was ran through the Con-A Sepharose column to isolate the glycoprotein of interest, which shows off as a peak in elution buffer tube 7 onwards by Bradford assays. Again, Bradford assays were repeated over and over again to finally get a reliable result. I noticed that there are two ways to prepare the Bradford solution.

There are three ingredients needed in order to prepare the Bradford solution:
(i) 100ml of 85% (v/v) phosphoric acid
(ii) 100mg of Coomassie Brilliant Blue G
(iii) 50ml of 95% ethanol

The instructions to prepare them is simple: 100ml of 85% (v/v) phosphoric acid was added to 100mg of Coomassie Brilliant Blue G and dissolved in 50ml 95% ethanol, followed by topping it up to final volume of 1 liter. One of the lab assistant followed this method and the resulting solution is dark blue in colour. I noticed that when we use this method to prepare the BRadford solution, the powder took a very long time to dissolve completely. I wonder whether we should add everything up then only stir to dissolve. The other lab assistant however, mixed the two solution first before adding the powder. In this case, the powder dissolved easier and the resulting solution is more black than blue in colour. The first method of preparation gave fluctuating results whereas the second method gave a more stable and consistent results. I read about Bradford assay and most of the literature confirmed that the first method of preparation to be correct. Then where did it go wrong? Beats me... Given the many factors that may influence the results, the time and incubation time are perhaps the variables.

Imagine this: I have 60 samples to be run using Bradford's assay. Each smple requires three replicates. The BSA standard required 33 test tubes alone! Therefore, in total there were about 33+(60*3)=213 test tubes to be read using the spectrophotometer a day... SEGOII... Each test tube are required to be read three times. Gulp** It took me a whole day to read and finish all the samples. I had to prepare the solution a day ahead and kept them in dark.

After getting used to the techniques and time management, slowly better results came into view. Once I asked my Australian senior regarding the preparation of Bradford Solution, he showed me a literature that I came across before. When I asked him whether he faced any complications in preparing the solution, he answered that he didn't know of any. Guess what? He had been using commercially available Bradford solution all this while and never tried bancuh sendiri. Sweatnya >_<" Another alternative to do Bradford assay is by using 96 well microtiter plate. This seems like a better alternative. In this case, a multichannel pipetter can be used and therefore the inconsistency could be minimised greatly. And not to mention that we can also minimised wastage as both the samples and solutions required are greatly reduced. Thinking that I had found the possible solutions, I proposed this alternative to the lab assistant. However, the answer that came back to me was "we never did this in this lab before. We have always used the cuvetter for this all the while... " >~<"

After PRof. Tan was finally satisfied with the results, we moved on to yet another chapter: Building up immunity of rabbits using the MPE fractionated by column chromatography. Of course, this is yet another chapter of my story...
